  • there should be monitoring to track if there is a new OS (e.g. base ubuntu image, base openwrt image) available for upgrade
  • I think it's enough to track it with a daily frequency
  • it shouldn't alert as on every hit, it's probably easiest if this is stored as a 0/1 by collectd, and then add threshold
  • so it needs multiple components: updating the collectd clients to report the value, and a threshold value for alerting
  • there probably would be at least two different sources (openwrt and maas-images)
